Ensuring value in health-related research
The Ensuring Value in Research (EViR) Funders’ Forum developed in June 2017 a Consensus Statement and Guiding Principles to reduce the loss of any research because of it asks the wrong questions, lacks robust research design, is not published or reports are not usable or accessible.
Health funders’ dissemination and implementation practices: results from a survey of the Ensuring Value in Research (EViR) Funders’ Forum
The 2019 EViR Funders’ Forum Dissemination and implementation (D&I) survey indicated that most funders regard D&I as a high priority, but the levels of activity per practice area might vary among funders. Some of the challenges that funders face are the lack of evidence for effective approaches and measuring impact.
How an international research funder’s forum developed guiding principles to ensure value and reduce waste in research
Through collective engagement, EViR members developed 10 Guiding Principles to enhance the value and efficiency of research while minimising waste. These principles serve as a framework to promote transparency, rigor, and accountability across various stages of the research process. The Guiding Principles emphasise the importance of robust methodologies, data sharing, and stakeholder involvement to optimise research outcomes and resource utilisation. Ultimately, this initiative underline the significance of fostering a culture of responsible research practices to maximise societal impact.
