EViR-ESSENCE Webinar – Good practices to ensure value in research in low- & middle-income countries
Purpose of the session: Raise awareness of each group with the members of the other and to explore common areas of interest, particularly around dissemination and costing of research.
9th EViR Funders’ Forum meeting September 2020
The EViR Round Table was open to Forum Members and took place on the 28 and 29 of September, after the Forum conference.
EViR Conference September 2020
On top of our usual meeting on the 28-29 of September, the Forum hosted their first conference. It provided the opportunity to open the Forum to a much wider community by opening the conference programme and participation to all members of the organisations. Sessions were spread over two weeks reducing the daily burden to all attendees. 175 individuals joined the conference from 59 organisations and 21 countries.

Purpose of the session: Describe COVID-END’s achievements to date and its current priorities, as well as identify opportunities to draw on this work to achieve greater value for money when funding/commissioning COVID-19 research.
Webinar – Novel and innovative approaches to decision making
Purpose of the session: The webinar focussed on different ways for funders to make decisions from topic identification and prioritisation to funding decisions.
EViR Meeting – Funders’ responses to COVID-19
Aim of the meeting: Discuss the opportunities and challenges of the funders and the wider sector’s response to COVID-19, with a focus on the EViR guiding principles.
8th EViR Funders’ Forum meeting March 2020
Nine countries were represented by participants from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Republic of Ireland, Sweden, UK and USA.
A broad range of organisations was present at the meeting, from large to small funding institutions with different remit, concerns and challenges.
7th EViR Funders’ Forum meeting September 2019
On September 19 and 20, 2019, the Ensuring Value in Research (EViR) Funders’ Forum held its 7th meeting in Washington, DC, hosted by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) and co-conveners National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), ZonMw, Health Research Board (HRB) Ireland and Health and Care Research Wales (HCRW). Forum members participated both in person and via webinar.

On November 2, 2017, the Ensuring Value in Research (EViR) Funders’ Forum held its 3rd meeting in Washington DC, USA, hosted by Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) and co-conveners National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), ZonMw, Health Care Research Wales (HCRW) and Health Research Board (HRB) Ireland. The meeting was held in conjunction with PCORI’s third Annual Meeting.
