EViR Webinar – AIMMS/Mentoring Scheme – Lessons Learned and Reflections

Funding organisations are constantly looking into strengthening their approach to EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion). Both funders and research organisations are committed to EDI broadly and developing and maintaining a healthy research culture more generally, tackling disadvantage and discrimination. EViR Membership Launch Event

The EViR Steering Group is pleased to announce the next stage of the Forum’s development to a membership model after the next EViR Meeting on 15 and 18 October 2021.

We hope you can join us on 18 October 2021 from 14:00 to 15:30 BST on the EViR Membership Launch Event. This is an opportunity to foster conversation and learning about the EViR Forum and plans for the coming year and engage with the EViR Steering Group.

11th EViR Meeting – 15 & 18 October 2021

The EViR Round Table was open to Forum Members and took place on Friday 15th and Monday 18th October 2021, 12:00-16:00 BST. Under normal circumstances, the Forum would have met in Sweden, however, due to COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was held virtually and hosted by Forte.

Members from 24 organisations had registered to the meeting and Michael welcomed those organisations that had joined an EViR meeting for the first time or had not been able to join the meeting for a while.

EViR – ABPI (Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry) Webinars

We are delighted to announce two joint webinars between the EViR Funders’ Forum and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI).

Following the first webinar on Tuesday 15th June, a second webinar will be delivered on Wednesday 30th June from 07:00 – 08:00 BST for colleagues in Australia and New Zealand.

Purpose of the session: These sessions will provide an overview of the pharmaceutical industry’s commitment to open and transparent research and give the opportunity to discuss opportunities for closer collaborative working between the EViR network and industry. The sessions’ recording along with other relevant materials will be shared after each session with the registrants.

Second EViR Dissemination & Implementation Interest Group Meeting

This session was the Second D&I interest group meeting. Attendees met with D&I peers from organisations around the world. The starting point of the discussion was a summary of the key outputs from the 2021 European Implementation Event and panel discussion on Funders roles in Implementation.  Followed by a discussion on Measuring Impact and Impact of D&I activities by funders and Innovative dissemination strategies.

EViR – RoRI Webinar: The Research on Research Institute: Progress & Future Plans (2)

Following the successful webinar on the 22nd April, we will be holding a second webinar on Tuesday 25th May at 07:00 BST.

Purpose of Session: To provide an overview of the work of the Research on Research Institute (RoRI), an international consortium of funders, academics and technologists committed to transformative and translational research on research (or meta-science).

First EViR Dissemination & Implementation Interest Group Meeting

This session was the first D&I interest group meeting. Attendees had the opportunity to meet D&I peers from organisations around the world. The starting point of the discussion was the challenges named in the 2019 D&I survey and input from the introduction round. Followed by a reflection on recognition of categories and types of activities and usability of the table and a checklist/benchmark for funders policies in D&I.

EViR Conference September 2020

On top of our usual meeting on the 28-29 of September, the Forum hosted their first conference. It provided the opportunity to open the Forum to a much wider community by opening the conference programme and participation to all members of the organisations. Sessions were spread over two weeks reducing the daily burden to all attendees. 175 individuals joined the conference from 59 organisations and 21 countries.
